描述
Sardinia
Sardinia

Sardinia is the second-largest island in the Mediterranean sea (after Sicily and before Cyprus) and is located west of the Italian Peninsula, north of Tunisia, and to the immediate south of the French island of Corsica.
The island has been occupied by the Phoenicians, Byzantines, Arabs, Catalans,..
From these occupations, Sardinia’s modern-day indigenous grape varieties claim multiple origins. The most important red grapes—namely Cannonau (a synonym for Grenache) and Carignano—are actually of Spanish origin.
And, Vermentino, the island’s star white, has a stronghold the Languedoc region of France (Rolle) as well as Italy’s western and coastal regions, namely Liguria (Pigato), Piedmont (Favorita) and in Tuscany.

Agripunica

Agripunica has been established in 2002 as a joint venture between Tenuta San Guido-Sassicaia, Sardinian winery Cantina di Santadi, Santadi’s President Antonello Pilloni and the legendary Tuscan consulting oenologist Giacomo Tachis.
It was Dr. Tachis who first thought about the Sardinia and Carignano match and he persuaded all the others to produce a fantastic Carignano wine.
The winery has two estates: Barrua and Narcao, situated in the south western zone of Sardinia, in an area known as “Basso Sulcis”.
Though the land sits within the DOC of Carignano del Sulcis territory, the wines are labelled under the IGT of Isola dei Nuraghi. A “Super IGT”!
