TUA RITA Toscana Syrah IGT “Keir” 2021

HK$1,188.00

Vinification: maceration with the skins in Terracotta Amphora for 6 months, Maturation: for about 6 months in used French oak barrels; after going into bottle in the summer, the wine is left to age for several months before release to market

“The nose immediately intrigues with savory, saline aromas of togarashi, seaweed, balsamic vinegar and salted dark chocolate setting the stage for an equally savory, if also berry-rich palate, all held in an ethereal balance by fine, polished tannins. Equal parts exhilarating and satisfying.” – Wine Enthusiast, 97 Points

“Love the nose with the dried flowers, red beans and red fruits that follow through to a medium body with firm tannins and a crunchy and delicious finish. Just a hint of cappuccino. Made in amphora with whole clusters of grapes and a tiny bit of wood aging for four months. Pure syrah. Drink now or hold.” – James Suckling, 95 Points

Grape: 100% Syrah

Tuscany
Tuscany

Tuscany is known for its landscapes, history and artistic legacy. As the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, the region has an incredible art and architecture heritage.
Tuscany is certainly the most famous of all Italian regions for its wines. Sangiovese reigns in all its forms in the vineyards of Chianti but also Montepulciano and Montalcino.
It is also the land of the Super Tuscan, the Bordeaux blend style that laid the foundation of some of the greatest Italian wines.
As a pairing with these wines, Tuscany cuisine is based on simplicity but high quality and certainly topped with Tuscan olive oil, recognized all over the world.

Tua Rita

The estate was founded in 1984 by Rita Tua and her husband Virgilio Bisti, beginning with a two-hectare plot at Notri, south of the town of Suvereto, a small town in the Tuscan province of Livorno, on the coast south of Bolgheri. The winery lies at just 100 meters above sea level, on clay, silty soil. This has grown to cover 57 hectares of vineyards, which are farmed organically.

The winery released its first vintage in 1992, and soon began receiving praise and accolades from wine enthusiasts worldwide for its rich, full-bodied wines. In five years, its 100% Merlot had achieved cult-like status, receiving outstanding ratings from the world’s most prestigious wine critics and publications. Wine Advocate’s Robert Parker said the 1999 Redigaffi was “as close to perfection as a wine can get.” The following year, he gave the 2000 Redigaffi a perfect 100 score.
