MARCHESI DI GRESY Barbaresco Riserva DOCG “Camp Gros – Martinenga” 2018

HK$1,490.00

Camp Gros is a single, around 2.5-hectare plot within the Martinenga Added Geographic Mention (MGA) vineyard. It is located in the extreme eastern side of the vineyard on a hillside at an altitude of around 250m above sea level and a southwest exposure.

“Fresh and floral with orange peel, crab apples, and cranberries. Flowers. Full-bodied with a very fine line of tannins through the center palate. Lovely texture. Persistent finish. Power with elegance. Gorgeous now but will age beautifully. An excellent example of this fresh and fine vintage. Better after 2026.” – James Suckling, 97 Points

Description
Piedmont
Piedmont

Located, as its name suggests, at the foot of the Alps bordering France and Switzerland, Piedmont is the second largest of Italy’s 20 regions, after Sicily.

Recognized for its industry like Fiat in Turin, Piedmont is also one of the greatest regions in the world in terms of cuisine (don’t forget the white truffles from Alba!) and wine!

With 46 DOC and 4 DOCG, Piedmont has more wine appellations than any other Italian region.

Marchesi di Gresy

The di Grésy family has owned Martinenga vineyard in Barbaresco since 1797.

In the early 1970s Alberto di Grésy realized the potential of his vineyard and decided that he had to vinify his own grapes.

In 1973 he produced his first vintage.

Marchesi di Grésy only vinifies grapes coming from its properties.

Located between Asili and Rabaja, the Martinenga cru is the only Langhe single owned “monopole”.
