GIUSEPPE CORTESE Barbaresco DOCG 2019

HK$470.00

Giuseppe Cortese Vineyards in Rabaja’ & Trifolera.

#42 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2023

“A pretty red, this boasts strawberry, cherry, raspberry and rose aromas and flavors aligned to an elegant profile. Firm and intense, with a long, detailed aftertaste of fruit, rosemary and mineral accents.” – Wine Spectator, 94 points

“Fragrant purple flower, red berry and wild herb aromas mingle in the glass together with a whiff of camphor. Tightly wound and linear, the youthfully austere palate shows crushed raspberry, Marasca cherry and star anise framed in taut, tightly knit tannins and bright acidity. Drink through 2031.” Editors’ Choice – Wine Enthusiast, 95 points

Description
Piedmont
Piedmont

Located, as its name suggests, at the foot of the Alps bordering France and Switzerland, Piedmont is the second largest of Italy’s 20 regions, after Sicily.

Recognized for its industry like Fiat in Turin, Piedmont is also one of the greatest regions in the world in terms of cuisine (don’t forget the white truffles from Alba!) and wine!

With 42 DOC and 17 DOCG, Piedmont has more wine appellations than any other Italian region.

Giuseppe-Cortese
Giuseppe Cortese

Since 1971, Giuseppe Cortese has been producing in the heart of “Rabajà,” a historic cru in the Barbaresco region.

Their high-quality wines from 4 hectares of vineyards benefits from a southwesterly exposure, offering optimal microclimate, soil, and ripening conditions.

The winery adheres to traditional winemaking practices while incorporating modern technology. They are ageing their wines in Slavonian oak barrels and storing them in underground cellars at ideal temperatures.

Their Chardonnay, Dolcetto, and Barbera vines, planted on the slopes opposite Trifolera, yield wines that are noted for their refined elegance and characteristic style.
