DOMAINE MACHARD DE GRAMONT Pommard 1er Cru AOP “Clos Blanc” 2022

HK$695.00

A deep ruby color, intense aromas of red fruits, licorice and cocoa with a very subtle vanilla note

“Fragrant nose of orange rind, moss, mushrooms, cloves, dried flowers and cherries. Flavorful and compact with plenty of spicy red fruit packed into a medium body, with tight and relatively firm tannins. Better from 2025.” – James Suckling, 92 Points

Description

Bourgogne

Bourgogne is a legendary wine region in eastern France.

Most of the red wines are made from pinot noir grapes and white from chardonnay grapes.

Burgundy has a higher number of AOCs than any other French region, often seen as the most terroir conscious. The various AOCs are classified from grand cru vineyards down to non-specific regional appellations.

The greatest whites are produced in Chablis or Cote de Beaune. The world’s finest Pinot Noir wines are in Cote de Nuits.

And South is the Côte Chalonnaise and the Maconnais.

Domaine Machard de Gramont

Arnaud Machard de Gramont and his two sons, Alban and Alexis, run this family domain.

The twenty hectares of vines cover an impressive palette of appellations extending over 50 kilometres.

The cellars are situated in Prissey, a hamlet neighbouring Nuits-Saint-Georges.

Their superb high arches of the cellar have been built in the 19th century. They allow the storage of an impressive quantity of oak barrels.
