"Inviting nose of apples and pears with stony minerals, brioche and meadow flowers. Medium-bodied, silky at first, then with a light phenolic note.

"Rich and exuberant in the glass, the 2020 Brunello di Montalcino bursts with autumnal spices, crushed raspberries, shaved cedar and dusty rose. It impresses further with a core of ripe red berry fruits that saturate deeply, displaying a pleasant inner sweetness offset by a salty core of minerality. The 2020 leaves the palate drenched in primary concentration with a tart cranberry, licorice resonance and grippy tannins, all while maintaining a remarkably fresh persona. The 2020 has a large-scale feel with expertly maintained balance." - Vinous, 95 Points

"A bright red color with orange highlights, the 2020 Brunello Di Montalcino is very pretty, with a delicate rustic hint that I find quite attractive. It reveals attractive red fruit on the nose, with notes of cranberries, wild herbs, and just a subtle hint of saddle leather and blood orange. Mid-weight, it's light on its feet while delivering wonderful energy and freshness, with snappy ripe red fruit, a refreshing, angular feel, and mouthwatering saline and acidity. This is certainly one of the highlights of the 2020 vintage. Drink 2025-2040." - Jeb Dunnuck, 97 Points

This wine is essentially a fresh and elegant expression of Roussanne on limestone. With the help of the altitude and cool climate of Mont Ventoux at around 300 meters, Quintessence Blanc combines concentration, minerality and saltiness.

Aging during one year in a concrete egg and 600L barrel on the lees.

"The 2023 Quintessence Blanc was made from 80% Roussanne and 20% Clairette, with 60% brought up in 10% new demi-muids and the rest in tank and concrete.
Due to its notable length, it has varying soils, expositions, micro-climates and varieties. The north is home to appellations such as Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, St-Joseph, Cornas and features Syrah as its sole red grape. Its whites include Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier.

In its southern half of the Rhône, the wines are notably different. The vineyards are hotter, flatter and composed of different soils and varieties, such as Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Carignan as well as the ubiquitous Syrah. The resulting wines such as Châteauneuf du Pape, are rich and robust with lots of character and warmth.

Very confidential production!

High-end red wine from a small Merlot vineyard which has been part of the estate for some time. The 100% Merlot wine ages in French oak tonneaux for approximately three years and then one year in the bottle.

The 2020 Iohanni is characterized by a well-integrated structure with both power and finesse. It exhibits elegant aromas of red berries, subtle spice and floral hints. On the palate, the tannins are firm but smooth, giving the wine a velvety structure that supports its rich fruit flavors.

Grape: 100% Merlot

Exciting cuvée of Sangiovese (own clone) with a small part of Merlot from the "Bandita" vineyards. Rich ruby red in the glass, black cherry, tobacco, cedar wood, young leather and liquorice in the typically Tuscan bouquet. Spreads widely on the palate, its juiciness and expressiveness make it a generous, fruity-elegant experience with high enjoyment and recognition value.

"Packaged in a really fun bottle with all the colors of a traditional Sicilian painted horse carriage, this wine is a joint project between Donnafugata and fashion house Dolce & Gabbana. With Nerello Mascalese from 700 meters above sea level on the flank of the Sicilian volcano, the 2018 Etna Rosso Dolce & Gabbana Cuordilava evokes dried currant and cassis with rosemary sprig, rose petal, iron ore and campfire ash. There is some sweet spice over a mid-weight mouthfeel with relatively soft tannins" - Wine Advocate, 92 Points

Dolce & Gabbana and Donnafugata partnership crafted this "Rosa".

Bright pale pink colour. Floral, fragrant bouquet of jasmine blossoms and rose petals as well as fine fruity notes of white peach and bergamot. Fresh, elegant and mineral on the palate, great length.

"The 2024 Rosato Dolce & Gabbana Rosa is more savory than sweet, with an herbal thrust up front that gives way to crushed stone, lime zest and dried strawberry. It is soothingly round and pleasant within, washing across the palate with ripe orchard fruit and a saline mineral tinge. The 2024 finishes zesty and fresh, leaving nuances of candied citrus and an air of sage." - Vinous, 91 Points

Sicily

The largest Mediterranean island, separated from the Italian peninsula by the very narrow Messina strait, Sicily is probably among the richest regions in history, art and cultural heritage, a mosaic of colours and contrasts.

According to legend, it was Dionysus (Bacchus) who brought pleasure to mankind, and wine to Sicily.

In the past, Sicily was famous for its Marsala and cheap bulk wines. Over the last 30 years, however, Sicily’s wine culture has changed dramatically and is now considered as one of the best regions.

The Sicilian has the largest vineyard in all of Italy. It is three times the size of the vineyard in New Zealand, larger than vineyard in South Africa and equivalent to the vineyard in Germany.

Donnafugata

Established in 1983 by Giacomo Rallo, the winery is now led by José and Antonio.

Donnafugata boasts vineyards in Contessa Entellina, nestled in the heart of western Sicily, as well as on Pantelleria island, situated between Sicily and Africa.

The 2016 harvest marked a milestone for Donnafugata, fulfilling the aspiration to produce wines in eastern Sicily with the distinguished Etna, Cerasuolo, and Frappato di Vittoria appellations.

The name Donnafugata, meaning ‘lady in flight,’ originates from the novel ‘Il Gattopardo’ and alludes to the tale of a queen who sought sanctuary in what are now the company’s vineyards, a narrative that also inspired the company’s logo.
