Wine has been produced in the United States since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628.<\/p>\n

Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states but 84% of all US wine is produced in California, over 90% in the states of California, Washington, and Oregon.<\/p>\n

The United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world.<\/p>\n

The North American continent is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”14512″ img_size=”400×200″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Dalla Valle<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 1983, Gustav and Naoko Dalla Valle began planting vines on the hillside of Oakville, overlooking Napa Valley. The Vineyards produces three wines: Maya (55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Cabernet Franc), Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Pietre Rosse (100% Sangiovese).<\/p>\n

Maya, named after founders Naoko and Gustav\u2019s daughter, is a special blend of Maya\u2019s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and the best selected blocks of Cabernet Franc.<\/p>\n

Home to some of the most sought-after Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley\u2019s Oakville district stretches across the center of Napa’s valley floor and foothills between the Vaca and Mayacamas Mountains.
