Molise<\/h5>\n

Molise is a region of Southern Italy. Until 1963, it formed part of the region of Abruzzi e Molise. The split, which did not become effective until 1970, makes Molise the newest region in Italy.<\/p>\n

It is Italy\u2019s second smallest region after the Aosta Valley \u2013 and the second-least populated. Situated south of Abruzzo, it is bordered by Puglia to the east, Lazio to the west and Campania to the south.<\/p>\n

Covered by 340,000 hectares of vineyards, Molise is the 4th<\/sup> smallest wine region in Italy. Montepulciano is from far the main grape variety with almost 50% of the production.<\/p>\n

Until not long ago, Molise wineries have always focused on local consumption, with large productions without denomination. In recent years, the situation has slowly started to change. The local winemakers are also re-evaluating some interesting native vines, such as Tintilia.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”12994″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Catabbo<\/h5>\n

Cantine Catabbo has been established in 1997 for fun by Vincenzo Catabbo in planting 0.5 hectare in San Martino in Pensilis, province of Campobasso, viewing the Adriatic Sea.<\/p>\n

Since 2004, his children have been involved with ambition to upgrade the activity in creating a modern cellar, paying especial attention to the enhancement of the quality of the wines produced.<\/p>\n

In this project, the rediscovery and vinification of native variety \u201cTintilia\u201d, takes on a primary role.<\/p>\n

From 2019 all the production is entirely Certified organic and wines are vinified with indigenous yeasts.<\/p>\n

Nowadays, Cantine Catabbo is about 40 hectares of vineyards. The wines are more and more recognized by international critics and public all over the world.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

The use of cocciopesto amphora can allow to keep the value of the grapes intact: fruit, elegance, combined with an evolution of the wine linked to micro-oxygenation, so as to have greater sweetness in the mouth.<\/p>\n

Ageing in amphora for 8 months and subsequent refinement in the bottle.<\/p>\n
