Soave, Valpolicella or Amarone, are produced there. The super trendy sparkling wine Prosecco has its origins and its best expression in the Veneto.<\/p>\n

The company was established in 1857 by brothers Giovan Battista and Gaetano Bertani in north of Verona.<\/p>\n
The winery\u2019s influence on Veneto\u2019s winemaking, especially in Amarone production, is so profound that the names \u2018Bertani\u2019 and \u2018Amarone\u2019 are almost interchangeable.<\/p>\n
Bertani produced its first official vintage of Amarone Classico, crafted through natural appassimento, in 1958.<\/p>\n
Today, the winery continues to blend tradition with innovation, managing over 200 hectares of vineyards in the prime areas of the Verona province.<\/p>\n
In 2018, Bertani was honored with the title \u201cWinery of the Year\u201d by Doctor Wine.<\/p>\n

Some consider Bertani as the inventor of modern Amarone. They work on the purity of the wine’s fruit, its territory and its tradition. The wine is built on acid and structure, not on sweetness and extract.<\/p>\n
“The 2003 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a big, enveloping wine loaded with wild cherries, licorice, new leather and dried flowers, not to mention considerable personality. The tannins are just a touch rough around the edges, and I am not sure they will ever soften given the heat of the vintage, but the 2003 should continue to drink well for at least a handful of years.
