Martinique, a French Caribbean island, is mainly producing \u201cRhum Agricole\u201d. It is obtained by distilling of sugar cane juice directly. This kind of rum is more aromatic.<\/p>\n
In 1996, the Island Rhum Agricole obtained an AOC recognition, \u201cAppellation d\u2019Origine Contr\u00f4l\u00e9e\u2019\u2019. It is the only one so far.<\/p>\n
There are strict ageing conditions & appellations:<\/p>\n
*\u201cRhum Blanc Agricole Martinique\u201d: min. 8 weeks in steel tanks<\/p>\n
*\u201cRhum Vieux Agricole\u201d: min. 3 years in oak casks of 650L<\/p>\n
*\u201cRhum Extra Vieux Agricole, XO\u201d: min. 6 years in oak casks<\/p>\n
All ageing & bottling must be done on the island.<\/p>\n

Rhum Cl\u00e9ment has been established in 1887 when Hom\u00e8re Cl\u00e9ment purchased a 43-hectare sugar plantation.<\/p>\n
Hom\u00e8re mimicked the distillers of the great Armagnac to perfect his method of rum production known today as Rhum Agricole.<\/p>\n
Nowadays, Cl\u00e9ment has 8,000 barrels patiently aged in their cellars and is a leading producer exporting to 80 different countries.<\/p>\n
Around 8% of the volume of each barrel is lost every year due to \u00ab evaporation \u00bb (or Angel share).<\/p>\n

Blend of Cl\u00e9ment Blanc and aged Rhum Agricole, cane sugar syrup and natural orange extract from the peels and zests of bitter oranges.<\/p>\n
Liqueur with a high aromatic intensity and richness. Dominated by citrus notes, particularly mandarin zest, with a hint of orange blossom on the nose. On the palate, the sweetness is pleasant and balanced by a delicate acidity, with flavors of orange and mandarin, enhanced by hints of acacia and honey.<\/p>\n
Can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks or in a cocktail.<\/p>\n
