A typical Serralunga soil. Margheria cru owned by Massolino is only 1.5 hectare with a production of 5,500 bottles max.

"I like the freshness and vivid, red-fruited character. Medium-bodied with firm, slightly chewy tannins. It’s compact and structured with a tense and lively aftertaste. Vivid and bright with hibiscus undertones to the orange and berry character. Try from 2027, but already very pretty." - James Suckling, 95 Points

"This Margheria Barolo is a stunning expression of elegance, with captivating high-toned fruit and delicate hints of strawberry tops. The palate is refined and graceful, with fine-grained tannins and mouthwatering acidity that enhance the pure, precise flavors. A true embodiment of finesse, this wine is a standout example of the cru's potential. Drink 2026-2045." - Wine Enthusiast, 94 Points

Grape: 100% Nebbiolo

"Demonstrating Serralunga's more elegant side thanks to soils that have higher than usual amounts of sand for the village, this offers enticing scents of red berry, iris, botanical herb and dark spice. Vibrant, structured and loaded with finesse, the linear palate offers crushed raspberry, dark cherry and star anise framed in taut, refined tannins. It's vibrant and balanced, with bright acidity. *Cellar Selection* " - Wine Enthusiast, 96 Points

" The 2013 Barolo Margheria is deep, layered and highly expressive, with a super-classic interplay of beguiling Serralunga aromatics, fruit and structure. Menthol, pine, tobacco, wild cherry and rose petal emerge from this deceptively mid-weight, muscular Barolo. The proverbial iron fist in a velvet glove, the 2013 Margheria has so much to offer, but readers will have to be patient. This is an especially brooding Barolo from Massolino. And it is gorgeous. " - Vinous, 95 Points

A typical Serralunga soil. Less clay, a little more sand. Makes for a wine that is much more expressive and approachable. More similar to the wines of western Barolo with softer tannins. Margheria cru owned by Massolino is only 1.5 hectare with a production of 5,500 bottles max.

"A classic, vibrant expression of Nebbiolo, this fragrant red opens with compelling aromas of wild berry, crushed rose, iris, menthol and aromatic herb. Elegant and structured, the linear, savory palate delivers juicy Marasca cherry, wild raspberry, licorice and mint alongside bright acidity and firm tannins." - Wine Enthusiast, 95 Points
