"An ecstatic wine that leaps from the glass with the speed of an Olympic sprinter. Vibrant aromas of sliced Bing cherries, crushed raspberries, wild roses and a hint of bay leaf dominate the nose. A delicious freshness unfolds on the palate with a blend of red berries that shine as brightly as if they had just been picked. Subtle earthy notes balance the wine on the crisp and lively finish." - Wine Enthusiast, 92 Points

Made with 100% Barbera grapes grown in estate-owned vineyards in Rocchetta Tanaro. La bigotta was a pious woman who lived next to the vineyard. She was much more concerned with the rules and appearances of religion than the spirit behind it. Braida added the spirit!

"Rich, smoky nose of ripe dark berries, chocolate, ground cloves and hints of cedar. Full-bodied and intense on the palate, with succulent fruit and a spiced, nutty character. It has a rather old-school character, though it shows harmony with good concentration and length. Drink or hold." - James Suckling, 91 Points

"Dark, intense ruby red with a slightly lighter rim. Very ripe aromas of red fruits such as cherry and plum as well as spicy notes of liquorice and vanilla with a hint of cedar on the nose. Very full-bodied on the palate, round and with ripe fruit and undergrowth, very long finish." - Falstaff, 94 Points

Located in central Italy, the region enjoys a very varied landscape going from mountains through hills to beautiful beaches, towering cliffs and clear blue waters.

Marche is best known as a white wine region, although it is also home to some reds of very high quality.

It has been the territory of the Verdicchio grape for more than 600 years. The wines are characterized by lively acidity and subtle herbaceous undertones.

Among the red wines of Marche, the finest are generally made from the Montepulciano grape and/or Sangiovese. The best DOCG is the intensely fragrant Rosso Conero Riserva.

"The 2022 Frappato Vittoria Bell'Assai wafts up with purity, displaying an array of violets, lavender, crushed blackberries and a complicating whiff of dusty earth. Round and juicy in style, it possesses cooling acidity and crisp wild berry fruits that cascade throughout. The 2022 finishes wickedly fresh and with medium length, leaving a pleasantly crunchy, mouthwatering sensation behind on the close. The Bell'Assai would make an excellent pairing for a wide variety of cuisine." - Vinous, 90 Points

The largest Mediterranean island, separated from the Italian peninsula by the very narrow Messina strait, Sicily is probably among the richest regions in history, art and cultural heritage, a mosaic of colours and contrasts.
According to legend, it was Dionysus (Bacchus) who brought pleasure to mankind, and wine to Sicily.
In the past, Sicily was famous for its Marsala and cheap bulk wines. Over the last 30 years, however, Sicily’s wine culture has changed dramatically and is now considered as one of the best regions.
The Sicilian has the largest vineyard in all of Italy. It is three times the size of the vineyard in New Zealand, larger than vineyard in South Africa and equivalent to the vineyard in Germany.

Donnafugata

Established in 1983 by Giacomo Rallo, the winery is now led by José and Antonio.

Donnafugata boasts vineyards in Contessa Entellina, nestled in the heart of western Sicily, as well as on Pantelleria island, situated between Sicily and Africa.

The 2016 harvest marked a milestone for Donnafugata, fulfilling the aspiration to produce wines in eastern Sicily with the distinguished Etna, Cerasuolo, and Frappato di Vittoria appellations.

The name Donnafugata, meaning ‘lady in flight,’ originates from the novel ‘Il Gattopardo’ and alludes to the tale of a queen who sought sanctuary in what are now the company’s vineyards, a narrative that also inspired the company’s logo.

Chardonnay (100%), grown in the central parcel of the Arzelle estate vineyard, planted at a high density of 10,000 vines/hectare.
The cuvée is assembled, in the spring following the harvest, with base wines 100% of the same growing year. The wine re-ferments and matures sur lie in the bottle for a minimum of 5 years, followed by a further 6 months after disgorging.
This “zero dosage” Blanc de Blancs is generous and deep, offering ripe apricot and melon, and candied apricot, then concluding on a rich note of black liquorice and pan brioche.

"This finesse-driven wine captivates the senses the moment the cork is pulled. The wine opens with fresh and baked apples, Meyer lemon tart, wildflowers and roasted honey. The palate is lifted and defined by orchard fruits, roasted citrus rinds, notes of crème fraîche, roasted hazelnuts and minerality. It finishes with an elegant perlage and vibrant acidity. Editor's Choice" - Wine Enthusiast, 95 Points

Abruzzo, situated in central Italy and sharing the same latitude as Rome, extends from the Apennines’ heart to the Adriatic Sea.

Known as “the greenest region in Europe,” nearly half of its area, which is the largest in Europe, is designated as national parks and protected nature reserves.

The region’s wine production focuses on two varieties: the red Montepulciano and the white Trebbiano.

Recently gaining popularity in Europe is the white varietal Pecorino, appreciated for its vibrant freshness and zest.
