Languedoc-Roussillon is located in the south of France. It extends from the Rh\u00f4ne Valley and Provence in the east to the Spanish border in the southwest.<\/p>\n
This region is home to 300,000 hectares of vineyards, making it the largest wine region in France.<\/p>\n
While historically known for its inexpensive table wines, many producers have spent recent decades striving to enhance the quality of their wines.<\/p>\n
Languedoc and Roussillon, the two sub-regions, are recognized for their unique red wine styles. Languedoc for its fruit-forward, full-bodied, and sometimes complex wines, and Roussillon for its riper, juicier blends.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”20647″ img_size=”400×200″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
One of Languedoc’s most successful winemaking stories is that of Mas de Daumas Gassac, founded by the Guibert family.<\/p>\n
Following the well reputed Daumas Gassac and its Moulin de Gassac which offered more accessible bottlings, a new wine adventure has started.<\/p>\n
The family has officially launched a new wine range: Atelier Guibert.<\/p>\n
It is described as a “Liberty and Creativity workshop” and \u201cnatural, intuitive winemaking.” There’s an emphasis on letting the terroir speak for itself without too much winemaker intervention.<\/p>\n
The 14 hectares of vineyard benefits from the same cooling winds and microclimates than Daumas Gassac.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
The nose expresses intense blackberry notes and a multitude of black fruits. The palate is delicious, with black fruit notes still very much present. Violet and undergrowth notes appear mid-palate, complemented by pretty, juicy tannins. The finish is spicy, with a touch of black olive.<\/p>\n
