Located, as its name suggests, at the foot of the Alps bordering France and Switzerland, Piedmont is the second largest of Italy\u2019s 20 regions, after Sicily.<\/p>\n
Recognized for its industry like Fiat in Turin, Piedmont is also one of the greatest regions in the world in terms of cuisine (don\u2019t forget the white truffles from Alba!) and wine!<\/p>\n

Braida has been created in 1961 by Giacomo Bologna. He has been recognized as the first winemaker to raise the quality from a traditional table Barbera to a fine wine.<\/p>\n
In 1982, Braida launched Bricco dell\u2019 Uccellone, a \u201cSuper Barbera\u201d.<\/p>\n
The wines were aged in small, French oak barrels in order to compensate for Barbera\u2019s lack of tannins. The result was a deeply flavourful, complex wine out of a variety normally considered to be an acidic filler.<\/p>\n

The name Grignolino derives from the word\u00a0grignole<\/i> which means “many pips” in the local dialect of the region.<\/p>\n
Produced on one of the hills overlooking Rocchetta Tanaro-Asti, where soil rich in clay and silt (limo in Italian).<\/p>\n
Bright garnet red with ruby highlights. Floral scents featuring rose, freshly cut hay, fruit such as apricots and yellow plums, accompanied by a corollary of wild strawberry, raspberry and cherry. Fresh and vinous palate, elegantly fleshy, featuring the same rose and fruits expressed in the nose with the same intensity.<\/p>\n
Serve at 8-12\u00b0C in spring and summer and at 15-18\u00b0C in autumn and winter.<\/p>\n
“Grignolino, the name says it all, you can’t help but smile at this wine. It opens with aromas of dried raspberries, strawberries and cranberries, which combine with notes of sage, thyme and dusty earth on the nose. The palate reveals crunchy red berries with notes of blood orange and citrus fruits, which lend the palate a certain sharpness.
