Burgundy<\/h5>\n

Burgundy (or Bourgogne in French) is a legendary wine region in eastern France.<\/p>\n

Most of the red wines are made from pinot noir grapes and white from chardonnay grapes.<\/p>\n

Burgundy has a higher number of AOCs than any other French region, often seen as the most terroir conscious. The various AOCs are classified from grand cru vineyards down to non-specific regional appellations.<\/p>\n

Chablis is the furthest north-region and produces some of the greatest whites.<\/p>\n

Further south lies the C\u00f4te d\u2019Or, split into C\u00f4te de Nuits, home to many of the world\u2019s finest Pinot Noir wines, and C\u00f4te de Beaune where Chardonnay plays a more prominent role, though outstanding red and white are produced throughout.<\/p>\n

Domaine Cauvard<\/strong><\/h5>\n

For 4 generations, The Cauvard family-owned estate has been located in the heart of Beaune.<\/p>\n

The Domain operates 18 hectares in 5 villages and has a wide range of climates in the C\u00f4te de Beaune.<\/p>\n

The Cauvard are focused on an integrated, sustainable approach to viticulture. They seek to control the development of the vines (disease and parasites) as naturally as possible.<\/p>\n

Le Clos de la Maladi\u00e8re, the only one enclosed in the city, is a monopoly of the Domaine.<\/p>\n

The Monopole is about 0.77 hectares producing red and white wines.<\/p>\n

2,400 bottles of white were produced.<\/p>\n

The name of the Clos comes from an old word meaning leprosery center.<\/p>\n
