Venica & Venica has been established in 1930. It is still a family-owned estate with 28 hectares of vines in Collio, near the Slovenian border.<\/p>\n
Today the winery is one of Friuli\u2019s most famous and respected estates. It is well-known for making highly textural and aromatic whites that use little to no wood.<\/p>\n
Venica & Venica\u2019s vineyards are spread over 7 different hills. They are located from 300-400 meters above sea level \u2014 each with its own distinct micro-climate.<\/p>\n

\u201cRonco delle Mele\u201d or Hill of the Apples is the name of a hill, of a single vineyard and nowadays one of the most famous and rewarded white wines in Italy.<\/p>\n
The small hill was bombed by the Austrians during the WWI and this caused a slight landslide of the slope. Daniele Venica who bought the property in 1930 decided to plant several apple trees among the existing vines, in order to support the soil. The Hill of the Apples was born!<\/p>\n
