\nTuscany is certainly the most famous of all Italian regions for its wines. Sangiovese reigns in all its forms in the vineyards of Chianti but also Montepulciano and Montalcino.
\nIt is also the land of the Super Tuscan, the Bordeaux blend style that laid the foundation of some of the greatest Italian wines.

The Fran\u00e7ois family, which settled in Tuscany in the 18th century, has owned the Castello di Querceto estate since 1897.
\nSince then, they have played a vital role in the development of the Tuscan wine industry. In 1924, Castello di Querceto was one of the 33 founding members of the Chianti Classico Consortium.
\nThe vineyards sit at 470 metres above sea level and extend over 190 hectares, of which 60 hectares are planted with vines. These 60 hectares are divided into 22 different lots, individually chosen for their specific micro-climatic characteristics.

It comes from a single 4 hectare vineyard that is cultivated and harvested by hand to yield a pure expression of Tuscany\u2019s most noble grape variety.
\nThe wine is matured for at least 18 months in barrel, and a further 6 months in bottle before release. It shows some clove and smoke from ageing in barrel, and the black tea, cherry, strawberry, and plum characteristics from the fruit.<\/p>\n
