A wildflower honey from the hills of Siena, harvested by 15 Italian bee colonies housed in hives placed along the edges of the Salcheto vineyards— where the bees also support the natural pollination of wildflowers and plants throughout the estate.

Unpasteurized and cold-extracted from the frames, the honey retains its full nutritional properties and the vivid scent of the land.

Its lightly amber colour is the signature of the terroir: the more continental climate brought by proximity to the Apennines delays flowering, leading the bees to gather in the summer months the honeydew — sweet secretions from woodland trees and shrubs that enrich the honey with minerals and lend it a distinctly complex aromatic character.

Natural crystallization, which intensifies at lower temperatures, is not a flaw but a mark of quality: evidence of a high pollen concentration and the complete absence of heat treatment.

"The Salcheto 2024 Rosso is a lovely wine with class, aromatics and plenty of flavor. A blend of 85% Sangiovese, 8% Canaiolo and 7% Merlot, all organically farmed, it invites you to dive in thanks to aroma of wild strawberry, crunchy red cherry and star anise. The aromas follow over to the bright, easy-drinking palate along with bitter orange. Glossy tannins lend supple support." - Kerin O'Keefe, 91 Points

At Salcheto, the deal is to maintain a balance with nature through sustainable farming and winemaking practices. These include non-invasive organic and biodynamic growing methods, as well as systematic energy and water conservation.

"Focused and nicely structured, with aromas of red plums, forest floor, crushed violets and tobacco that carry into a medium- to full-bodied palate. The tannins are firm but integrated, holding a vivid line of acidity that gives the finish clarity and tension. From organically grown grapes. Sustainable. Drink or hold." - James Suckling, 92 Points

"A juicy and savory red with aromas of blackcurrants, fresh sage and rosemary. It’s medium- to full-bodied with creamy tannins and a long and beautiful finish. Shows finesse and polish. Needs two or three years to soften but is already very pretty." - James Suckling, 95 Points

"The 2023 Giusto di Notri is one of the more refined wines of the vintage at Tua Rita. A burst of dark red/purplish fruit, new leather, rose petal, cedar and mocha makes a strong first impression. Silky tannins wrap it all together in style." - Vinous, 94 Points

"Lots of chocolate and berries, as well as spice, walnuts and vanilla. It’s full and layered. Extremely long and flavorful. So juicy and sexy. Luscious is the word. Opulent with polish and presence. Chewy at the end. Brightness and energy here. " - James Suckling, 98 Points

"A beautiful Tuscan Merlot, the 2018 Redigaffi strikes me as an especially rich and balanced expression. This is something I alluded to in my original review of this vintage. The wine is still very young with dark fruit, dried cherry, soft spice and toasted oak. It is dark and concentrated in appearance and texture, and it also has enough freshness and tart fruit flavors to assure a long aging trajectory ahead." - Wine Advocate, 97 Points

托斯卡纳

Tuscany is known for its landscapes, history and artistic legacy. As the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, the region has an incredible art and architecture heritage.

Tuscany is certainly the most famous of all Italian regions for its wines. Sangiovese reigns in all its forms in the vineyards of Chianti but also Montepulciano and Montalcino.

It is also the land of the Super Tuscan, the Bordeaux blend style that laid the foundation of some of the greatest Italian wines.

As a pairing with these wines, Tuscany cuisine is based on simplicity but high quality and certainly topped with Tuscan olive oil, recognized all over the world.

Tua Rita

The estate was founded in 1984 by Rita Tua and her husband Virgilio. They started with a two-hectare plot at Notri, a small Tuscan city, on the coast south of Bolgheri.

The winery lies at just 100 meters above sea level. This has grown to cover 57 hectares of vineyards, which are farmed organically.

The winery released its first vintage in 1992, and soon began receiving accolades worldwide for its rich, full-bodied wines.

In a few years, its 100% Merlot had achieved cult-like status. Wine Advocate said the 1999 Redigaffi was “as close to perfection as a wine can get.” The following year, he gave the 2000 Redigaffi a perfect 100 score.
