From the Arabic term “Son of the Wind” because the wind sweeps constantly around the grape clusters on Pantelleria.
Rich bouquet with outstanding aromas obtained from the dried grapes: apricots and candied orange peel. Maybe the best sweet wine from Italy?

"Gorgeous flavours of sun-ripened peach, bitter orange peel and dried figs, infused with luxurious flowers that shine through the supple texture and wonderful caress of refreshing acidity. Very engaging and rich, with an unbroken length." - Decanter, 97 Points

"Burnt blood orange, autumnal spices, candied ginger, dried nectarines and a hint of mint form a kaleidoscopic bouquet as the 2022 Ben Ryé blossoms in the glass. It feels heavy and velvety, yet remarkably fresh, flooding the palate with an abundance of tropical citrus, mango and papaya supported by a core of zesty acidity. The 2022 finishes with dramatic length and concentration. The finish of peach nectar and savoury spices is long lasting. The 2022 is sure to join the ranks of Ben Ryé's best vintages." - Vinous, 95 Points

Grape: 100% Zibibbo (Muscat of Alexandria)

The largest Mediterranean island, separated from the Italian peninsula by the very narrow Messina strait, Sicily is probably among the richest regions in history, art and cultural heritage, a mosaic of colours and contrasts.
According to legend, it was Dionysus (Bacchus) who brought pleasure to mankind, and wine to Sicily.
In the past, Sicily was famous for its Marsala and cheap bulk wines. Over the last 30 years, however, Sicily’s wine culture has changed dramatically and is now considered as one of the best regions.
The Sicilian has the largest vineyard in all of Italy. It is three times the size of the vineyard in New Zealand, larger than vineyard in South Africa and equivalent to the vineyard in Germany.

Established in 1983 by Giacomo Rallo, the winery is now led by José and Antonio.

Donnafugata boasts vineyards in Contessa Entellina, nestled in the heart of western Sicily, as well as on Pantelleria island, situated between Sicily and Africa.

The 2016 harvest marked a milestone for Donnafugata, fulfilling the aspiration to produce wines in eastern Sicily with the distinguished Etna, Cerasuolo, and Frappato di Vittoria appellations.

The name Donnafugata, meaning ‘lady in flight,’ originates from the novel ‘Il Gattopardo’ and alludes to the tale of a queen who sought sanctuary in what are now the company’s vineyards, a narrative that also inspired the company’s logo.

The term Curej originates from cureja, meaning a trouser belt or the long belt used in machinery for threshing grain. Curej is the nickname of the family, which looked after the soil since the beginning. The Barbera comes exclusively from the hills of San Bernardo, where the quality of vines is excellent and the soil is unique.

Purplish ruby red colour. Big and expressive, fruity and floral, blue raspberries, fresh cherry, wisteria, blond tobacco and liquorice. A surprising harmony of different scents. The taste is full and dry, sapid and fresh, well balanced among the spicy, fruity and floral notes.

Grape: 100% Barbera

Braida

Braida has been created in 1961 by Giacomo Bologna. He has been recognized as the first winemaker to raise the quality from a traditional table Barbera to a fine wine.

In 1982, Braida launched Bricco dell’ Uccellone, a “Super Barbera”.

The wines were aged in small, French oak barrels in order to compensate for Barbera’s lack of tannins. The result was a deeply flavourful, complex wine out of a variety normally considered to be an acidic filler.

Now, the children, Raffaella and Giuseppe, run the wine estate. They have made Braida one of the most respected wineries in Piedmont.

Giuseppe & Angela, his children, built the first wine cellar and extended his estate into the best soils.

Very unique wine in the region. Thanks to the alternation of high humidity and drier airflows, at fairly low temperatures, the grapes are attacked by Botrytis Cinerea in its most ‘noble’ form. This gives the wine complexity and rare flavours and aromas.

"Light savory spice from botrytis blends with a bright, ripe-citrus and light apricot fruit character. Medium- to full-bodied with a refreshing, medium-sweet palate and a fresh, lemony finish. Lovely balance to this versatile wine." - James Suckling, 92 Points

In the years when the Barbera was a light wine and simple, when the barrel was intended only for the most noble Barolo and Barbaresco, Braida has revolutionized the way to think Barbera, valuing this grape capable of giving red of infinite structure and aging potential. Bricco dell'Uccellone was born!

"The 2017 Barbera d'Asti Bricco dell'Uccellone is a dark and almost impenetrable expression with bold layers of thick, dark fruit. The wine is constructed like a little tower, layer upon layer, that rises tall with momentum and power. The intensity is beautiful, and that's always been the defining trait of Uccellone. It drinks beautifully now, but it will hold its own in the cellar. Drink: 2020-2035." - Wine Advocate, 94 Points

Les Crêtes

Founded in 1989 by Costantino Charrere, Les Cretes is one of only a few private wineries in the Valle D’Aosta. The winery is located in Aymavilles.
It currently manages 25 hectares of vineyards in six villages.

It is the largest private company operating in the Aosta valley region.

Les Crêtes produces its wines in a very specific context, characterized by high mountains, sandy slopes and alpine temperatures.

The vineyards are planted in both indigenous varieties (Petite Arvine, Petit Rouge, Fumin), as well as the more traditional varieties (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Muscat). Their Chardonnay has been awarded best white in Italy by Gambero Rosso in 2009.
