"Packaged in a really fun bottle with all the colors of a traditional Sicilian painted horse carriage, this wine is a joint project between Donnafugata and fashion house Dolce & Gabbana. With Nerello Mascalese from 700 meters above sea level on the flank of the Sicilian volcano, the 2018 Etna Rosso Dolce & Gabbana Cuordilava evokes dried currant and cassis with rosemary sprig, rose petal, iron ore and campfire ash. There is some sweet spice over a mid-weight mouthfeel with relatively soft tannins" - Wine Advocate, 92 Points

"Lovely floral aromas with sliced strawberries and a hint of blood orange. Medium body, fine tannins and a fresh finish. Succulent and bright." - James Suckling, 92 Points

Dolce & Gabbana and Donnafugata partnership crafted this "Rosa".

Bright pale pink colour. Floral, fragrant bouquet of jasmine blossoms and rose petals as well as fine fruity notes of white peach and bergamot. Fresh, elegant and mineral on the palate, great length.

"The 2024 Rosato Dolce & Gabbana Rosa is more savory than sweet, with an herbal thrust up front that gives way to crushed stone, lime zest and dried strawberry. It is soothingly round and pleasant within, washing across the palate with ripe orchard fruit and a saline mineral tinge. The 2024 finishes zesty and fresh, leaving nuances of candied citrus and an air of sage." - Vinous, 91 Points

Grape: Nerello Mascalese, Nocera

Straw yellow in colour with golden reflections. Refined aromas of citrus fruit and lemon peel, rounded off by fruity hints of yellow apple and Mediterranean herbs.

Dolce & Gabbana and Donnafugata partnership crafted this "Tancredi" Limited Edition.

With an intense ruby red color, Tancredi 2021 combines notes of ripe red fruit -black cherry and plums- followed by delicate spicy hints, cacao and sweet tobacco. On the palate it unfolds all its enveloping and plentiful personality with perfectly integrated tannins; it ends with a long and elegant persistence.

"Sweet, ripe blackberries and dried figs open the nose, followed by chocolate and coffee, and finally pencil shavings and top soil. The palate stays juicy with berries, plums and figs, plus that sophisticated chocolate sweetness, but there is also more room for sanguine, meaty, earthy notes to introduce a strong umami current, which is fortified by chewy tannins." - Wine Enthusiast, 93 Points

Grape: Cabernet Sauvignon, Nero d'Avola

From the Arabic term “Son of the Wind” because the wind sweeps constantly around the grape clusters on Pantelleria.
Rich bouquet with outstanding aromas obtained from the dried grapes: apricots and candied orange peel. Maybe the best sweet wine from Italy?

"Gorgeous flavours of sun-ripened peach, bitter orange peel and dried figs, infused with luxurious flowers that shine through the supple texture and wonderful caress of refreshing acidity. Very engaging and rich, with an unbroken length." - Decanter, 97 Points

"Burnt blood orange, autumnal spices, candied ginger, dried nectarines and a hint of mint form a kaleidoscopic bouquet as the 2022 Ben Ryé blossoms in the glass. It feels heavy and velvety, yet remarkably fresh, flooding the palate with an abundance of tropical citrus, mango and papaya supported by a core of zesty acidity. The 2022 finishes with dramatic length and concentration. The finish of peach nectar and savoury spices is long lasting. The 2022 is sure to join the ranks of Ben Ryé's best vintages." - Vinous, 95 Points

Grape: 100% Zibibbo (Muscat of Alexandria)

Dolce & Gabbana and Donnafugata partnership crafted this "Tancredi" Limited Edition.

"The 2020 Dolce & Gabbana Tancredi seduces with a burst of blackcurrant, wild blueberry, oak spice, mentholated herbs and cloves. It is pure and elegant in style with underlying power in reserve. Masses of ripe red and black fruits saturate and leave a mineral colour, while fine-grained tannins come through towards the end. On the finish, the 2020 shows its best side, structured and classically dry, with a tart blackberry note and a hint of pepper that lingers for a long time. Be patient with this understated beauty." - Vinous, 94+ Points

Dolce & Gabbana and Donnafugata partnership crafted this "Rosa".

Bright pale pink in colour, with an elegant bouquet of jasmine, delicate fruity notes of wild strawberry, peach and bergamot.

It opens with a pretty inner sweetness that gives way to vivid white pear and zests of orange. A core of vibrant acidity maintains fantastic energy within. This cleans up beautifully, crisp and refreshing with a salty flourish—a fantastic rendition of Donnafugata's Rosa, despite the difficulties of the vintage." - Vinous, 92 Points

A bright tang of citrusy acidity and a touch of salinity give this good cut and form, while fragrant hints of lavender, cardamom, white chocolate and Earl Grey waft in on the long, lasting finish. Drink now through 2034." - Wine Spectator, 94 Points

Grape: 100% Zibibbo (Muscat of Alexandria)

Sicily

The largest Mediterranean island, separated from the Italian peninsula by the very narrow Messina strait, Sicily is probably among the richest regions in history, art and cultural heritage, a mosaic of colours and contrasts.
According to legend, it was Dionysus (Bacchus) who brought pleasure to mankind, and wine to Sicily.
In the past, Sicily was famous for its Marsala and cheap bulk wines. Over the last 30 years, however, Sicily’s wine culture has changed dramatically and is now considered as one of the best regions.
The Sicilian has the largest vineyard in all of Italy. It is three times the size of the vineyard in New Zealand, larger than vineyard in South Africa and equivalent to the vineyard in Germany.

Donnafugata

Established in 1983 by Giacomo Rallo, the winery is now led by José and Antonio.

Donnafugata boasts vineyards in Contessa Entellina, nestled in the heart of western Sicily, as well as on Pantelleria island, situated between Sicily and Africa.

The 2016 harvest marked a milestone for Donnafugata, fulfilling the aspiration to produce wines in eastern Sicily with the distinguished Etna, Cerasuolo, and Frappato di Vittoria appellations.

The name Donnafugata, meaning ‘lady in flight,’ originates from the novel ‘Il Gattopardo’ and alludes to the tale of a queen who sought sanctuary in what are now the company’s vineyards, a narrative that also inspired the company’s logo.
