CANTINE DEI Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva DOCG “Bossona” 2015

HK$660.00

Bossona vineyard (15ha, 20+ year old vines) is a south-facing amphitheatre located at 350-400 metres above sea level. Characterised by sandy limestone soil rich in marine fossils, it is planted exclusively to Prugnolo Gentile (local name of Sangiovese).

This Vino Nobile Riserva is aged for 3 years in tonneau and an additional 1 year in bottle.

“This red is broad, yet vivid and focused, featuring violet, black currant, blueberry, iron and tobacco aromas and flavors. A swath of dense tannins lends support as this plays out on the long aftertaste. Distinctive and complex.” – Wine Spectator, 95 Points

Grape: 100% Sangiovese

Description
Tuscany
Tuscany

Tuscany is known for its landscapes, history and artistic legacy. As the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, the region has an incredible art and architecture heritage.
Tuscany is certainly the most famous of all Italian regions for its wines. Sangiovese reigns in all its forms in the vineyards of Chianti but also Montepulciano and Montalcino.
It is also the land of the Super Tuscan, the Bordeaux blend style that laid the foundation of some of the greatest Italian wines.
As a pairing with these wines, Tuscany cuisine is based on simplicity but high quality and certainly topped with Tuscan olive oil, recognized all over the world.

Cantine Dei

Founded by Alibrando Dei in 1964, today Cantine Dei is run by the granddaughter Caterina Dei.
The estate covers 120 hectares, with 60ha of vineyards divided into five areas of production. Each site has its own soil type with defining characteristics. Amongst, “Bossona” and “La Piaggia” stands out for their soil rich in skeletons and fossils from Pliocene period.
In 2019 a new cru, Madonna della Querce, has been released. The fruits are coming from a south-facing slope of 1.5ha, planted in 2005 in a sandy, tuffaceous and clayey mixture soil.
To pay a tribute to this unique terroir, the new winery has been built with a staircase inspired by fossil seashells.
