Altamira vineyard was planted in 1950 at the foothill of the Andes just below the Tunuyán river. The very challenging growing conditions and the soil profile give this wine a very unique character. Orange peel and balsamic flavors combine harmoniously the violets and red fruit notes typical from Malbec. Mineral notes and sharp acidity.

"This is probably the freshest and most eclectic among the four 2021 Finca wines that Achaval Ferrer produces now. Ripe but fresh and complex, with plenty of layers. Black and blue fruit, violets, graphite, dark chocolate and just a touch of balsam. Fresh yet hedonistic with fine veins of tannins. Plush and extremely long. A big step up from the challenging 2020. Likely one of the best, too. Drink or hold." - James Suckling, 98 Points

Grape: 100% Malbec

The historic and emblematic wine of Domaine Ponsot – the grapes come from old vines located 2/3 in the original “Clos de la Roche” climat and 1/3 at the foot of the hillside in the “Clos des Monts-Luisants”. Grand Cru Clos de la Roche combines power and elegance.

"Ponsot is the largest landowner here, with old vines whose average age is 65 years. Everything at Ponsot is calculated for maximum purity of expression: the fruit is completely destemmed, extraction is gentle and no new casks are used in the maturation. The results in 2019 are absolutely marvellous, with lush dark plum and cassis fruit, alongside savoury, earthy accents. The texture is silky, dense and long. A monumental wine. " - Decanter, 96 Points

"The average age of the vines is 65. On the darker side of imperial purple and then, what a magisterial nose, clearly ahead of anything else in the cellar! Clos de la Roche ripened early this year, so for once was picked earlier in the piece. Not too late fortunately, but the level of ripeness in terms of fruit profile can certainly be seen. We are in the presence of a grand wine for sure, with perfectly balanced acidity to carry it through and exceptional persistence." - Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy, 99 Points

Grape: 100% Pinot Noir

Features taut but well-integrated tannins, crescendoing harmoniously with elements of molasses and cocoa. Drink now through 2043." - Wine Spectator, 96 Points

"Very attractive red cherries and berries with plenty of sweetly fragrant spice and warm stones. This offers exceptional power and rich, ripe fruit on the palate. Really balanced and succulent with seamlessly arranged tannins. So good." - James Suckling, 96pts

"The 2015 Barolo Brunate is yet another silky and fine red wine with perhaps a tiny bit more structure and firmness at the back than the other single-vineyard offerings from Ceretto. It is beautifully accessible and oh so fine and elegant. The wine is aged in 300-liter French oak (with 10% new oak) for 12 months, followed by 24 months in Austrian oak casks. I absolutely love this wine. It's a cru that will impress at any wine-tasting party, or I can picture it at dinner with a deliciously rare steak au poivre." - Wine Advocate, 96 Points

Located, as its name suggests, at the foot of the Alps bordering France and Switzerland, Piedmont is the second largest of Italy’s 20 regions, after Sicily.

Recognized for its industry like Fiat in Turin, Piedmont is also one of the greatest regions in the world in terms of cuisine (don’t forget the white truffles from Alba!) and wine!

With 46 DOC and 4 DOCG, Piedmont has more wine appellations than any other Italian region.

"The Masseto 2021 Massetino is mostly Merlot with a touch of Cabernet Franc for good measure. The wine (packaged in a heavy glass bottle) is very richly concentrated and layered. You see (and taste) the opulent texture of the wine as it slowly coats the glass. Quality fruit is matched by carefully selected oak, and the intensity of both builds on the palate. This vintage is poised for especially long cellar aging. This vintage of Massetino (2021) scores neck-in-neck with the current vintage (2020) of Masseto." - Wine Advocate, 96 Points

"Sweet berries with violet and rose aromas. Raspberries. So perfumed. Medium-bodied with very fine velvety tannins that run the length of the wine. Vibrant at the end. Second wine of Masseto. Best ever. Drink in 2027 but already a joy to taste." - James Suckling, 96 Points

Tuscany

Tuscany is known for its landscapes, history and artistic legacy. As the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, the region has an incredible art and architecture heritage.
Tuscany is certainly the most famous of all Italian regions for its wines. Sangiovese reigns in all its forms in the vineyards of Chianti but also Montepulciano and Montalcino.
It is also the land of the Super Tuscan, the Bordeaux blend style that laid the foundation of some of the greatest Italian wines.
As a pairing with these wines, Tuscany cuisine is based on simplicity but high quality and certainly topped with Tuscan olive oil, recognized all over the world.

Masseto

On Italy’s Tuscan Coast, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea near the small village of Bolgheri, sits a magical hillside. The wine made here was never meant to exist: Masseto. Humankind, the soil, and the vineyard: these are the three determining elements for its success.

Masseto is the name for a unique wine, vineyard, and estate. The blue clay soil, the cool coastal breezes, and the excellent refraction of light guaranteed by the Mediterranean Sea contribute to the intriguing mix of power, elegance and complexity that distinguishes the estate’s wine. Masseto has been internationally acclaimed since it was created in 1986.
