A tribute to the family ancestor Paul Martin, who was one of the first French winemakers to sell his wine in bottles in the 18th century under the name "Vin de la Solitude".
Made according to the 18th-century vinique art with very different blends where Grenache is not dominant. The wine consists of a large number of co-fermented grapes with much longer macerations than those made today.

"The 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape Vin De La Solitude has a medium-bodied, elegant, and silky profile. It offers remarkable complexity with savory red fruits, pressed flowers, savory garrigue, and spicy nuances. The balance is superb, and it has fine, building tannins with a great finish. This cuvée is all about complexity and elegance over power." - Jeb Dunnuck, 95 Points

"Forget the world and fly into this incredibly concentrated and subtle recreation of a Chateauneuf from two centuries ago. A cornucopia of gingerbread, dried cherries, bitter chocolate and wild herbs on the nose. The quality of the tannins is as unique as the aromas. Endless layers of flavor in the super-refined finish. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drink or hold." - James Suckling, 99 Points

Grape: Grenache noir 25%, Serine (old name, similar to Syrah) 22%, Counoise 20%, Mourvèdre 20%, Cinsault 7%, Clairette blanche 3%, Clairette rose 2%, Bourboulenc-Roussanne-Picpoul 1%

One of the demanded red wine regions in France is the Rhône, a valley that starts due south of Lyon and continues along the Rhône River until Provence.

Due to its notable length, it has varying soils, expositions, micro-climates and varieties. The north is home to appellations such as Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, St-Joseph, Cornas and features Syrah as its sole red grape. Its whites include Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier.

In its southern half of the Rhône, the wines are notably different. The vineyards are hotter, flatter and composed of different soils and varieties, such as Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Carignan as well as the ubiquitous Syrah. The resulting wines such as Châteauneuf du Pape, are rich and robust with lots of character and warmth.

Domaine de La Solitude

La Solitude belongs to one of the oldest families of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Their history goes back to the XVth century. From generation to generation, the Estate is still a family affair and is now run by Florent Lançon.
La Solitude stretches over 37 hectares of the best terroirs in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The domain begins on “La Crau”, high terraces of the Rhône and then descends into the valley of la Solitude. It is a patchwork of terroirs ranging from sandy soils (safres) to clay and pebbles (galets roulés). Thirteen different grape varieties are cultivated there!
The vineyard has been practising organic viticulture for a long time and will be officially certified from 2021 vintage and biodynamic from 2022.

Tuscany is known for its landscapes, history and artistic legacy. As the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, the region has an incredible art and architecture heritage.
Tuscany is certainly the most famous of all Italian regions for its wines. Sangiovese reigns in all its forms in the vineyards of Chianti but also Montepulciano and Montalcino.
It is also the land of the Super Tuscan, the Bordeaux blend style that laid the foundation of some of the greatest Italian wines.

On Italy’s Tuscan Coast, overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea near the small village of Bolgheri, sits a magical hillside. The wine made here was never meant to exist: Masseto. Humankind, the soil, and the vineyard: these are the three determining elements for its success.

Masseto is the name for a unique wine, vineyard, and estate. The blue clay soil, the cool coastal breezes, and the excellent refraction of light guaranteed by the Mediterranean Sea contribute to the intriguing mix of power, elegance and complexity that distinguishes the estate’s wine. Masseto has been internationally acclaimed since it was created in 1986.

"The nose is reminiscent of a super elegant and sleek Bordeaux, pure and clean, less balsamic than in previous years and less herbal. It's perfumed and floral, precise, fresh and elegant, with very fine tannins, and despite the grape, it is more Pomerol than Graves, with 14% alcohol on the label but without any heat at all. It's velvety and luxurious, juicy and tasty, with fine-grained chalky tannins and the elegant stoniness that the best Maipos are capable of. It has structure and power, like the proverbial iron fist in a velvet glove. This has to be the finest vintage for Chadwick; the wine made my heart beat faster—it's a wine of emotion. This is also my first 100-point wine from Chile!" - Wine Advocate, 100 Points

Chile

Old or New World wine-producing country? Its first grapevines were planted as early as the 1500s. European immigrants brought more varieties, particularly from Bordeaux, to Chile in the 1800s. Until the 1990s, most of the country’s wine was consumed locally. As Chilean winemakers started exporting more wine, the world noticed both the quality and value of Chile wines.
With 4,300 kilometers of coastline along the Pacific Ocean, Chile produces wines that are both fruit-forward factor and herbaceous.
Cabernet Sauvignon might be Chile’s most important red variety, but Carmenere is the country’s niche grape (98% of the world’s Carmenère is grown there). As for white wines, Sauvignon blanc has become increasingly popular and performs well when grown close to the cool Pacific; Chardonnay is also ubiquitous in Chile.

Viñedo Chadwick

Viñedo Chadwick represents the Chadwick family’s desire to honour the memory of Eduardo’s father, the late Don Alfonso Chadwick Errázuriz.

In 1992 – realising that his father’s polo field sat on gravel soils perfectly suited to Cabernet – Eduardo persuaded him to convert it to vineyards. Sadly, Alfonso died the following year, before he could see the fruit of the project. In 1999, the first vintage of Viñedo Chadwick – an ultra-premium expression of Chilean Cabernet from the Maipo Valley – was made.

The aim here is to produce a wine of elegance and purity that expresses a real sense of place. The wine is often 100% Cabernet, but a small percentage of Petit Verdot is included in some years.

Viñedo Chadwick is located in Puento Alto, along the Northern bank of the Maipo river at the foothills of the Andes Mountains. It is situated in one of the best areas of the Maipo Valley for growing exceptional quality.

The 2014 vintage of Viñedo Chadwick was the first Chilean wine to be awarded 100 points, as rated by critic James Suckling.

Clos Apalta

One of the oldest vineyards of Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere in Chile. The oldest plots were planted between 1915 and 1920; the stocks were imported from France at the end of the 19th century. A unique, century-old vineyard with 40 hectares of pied franc, with vines averaging 80-years-old.

Enclaved in the Colchagua Valley, near the town of Santa Cruz, Clos Apalta has a micro-climate which is significantly distinct from the general climate of Chile. It could be called semi-Mediterranean, with winter rains and a long, dry summer; weather conditions that allow the grapes to reach optimum maturity. The extreme thermal oscillation favors the accumulation of anthocyanins which creates the deep, rich color of the wines.

In 1994, Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle and her husband Cyril de Bournet acquired this property. Their ambition was to produce an exceptional wine and to pave the way for the qualitative development of the country’s fine wines.

It’s full-bodied yet in check and focus with fine, fine tannins that roll over the palate and create beautiful motion. Chewy yet silky and endless.

"The 2014 Latour captures the personality of the year in its linear, lithe construction. It's a decidedly understated Latour that is more about finesse than brawn. Bright red cherry/plum fruit, spice, mint and sweet tobacco open over time, but at this level, wines are more about a feel, an expression of place and a vintage. The 2014 Latour embodies all the best this cool, late-ripening growing season had to offer. I loved the 2014 when it was first shown, about five years ago, and I love it today. It is a super-classic Pauillac." - Vinous, 96 Points

The majority of Bordeaux wines are dry, red blends from Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon or Cabernet-Franc.

The finest (and most expensive) of these come from the great châteaux of the Left Bank (higher in tannins, alcohol and acidity, more on Cabernet) like Pauillac, Margaux, St Estephe or St Julien and the Right Bank (softer, less tannic and lower in alcohol and acidity. Merlot is the dominant grape), appellations of Saint-Emilion and Pomerol. Enormous concentration, silkiness and finesse on the expansive palate. Extravagant in the best sense of that word! The finish gets finer, the closer it gets to infinity. Drinkable now, but best from 2025." - James Suckling, 99 Points

"Gorgeous florality on the nose, fresh rose petals and sweet red fruits, so beguiling and tempting. Beautiful fragranced fruit on the palate, the roses really continue all the way, edging the fruit and giving the palate such scent. Tannins are smooth and well integrated and this has a gorgeous texture, full and generous but silky smooth and so delectable. Excellent acidity gives freshness and energy and underpins the flavours giving a lovely hit of spiced liquorice, caramelised nuts and cola cubes. Feels really well worked, intense and concentrated but excellent definition and focus. A stylish and seductive wine. Hold onto for a few years." - Decanter, 97 Points

Tasted as a barrel sample, this is a truly magnificent Opus One in the making!" - Wine Advocate, 99 Points

Wine has been produced in the United States since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628.

Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states but 84% of all US wine is produced in California, over 90% in the states of California, Washington, and Oregon.

The United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world.

The North American continent is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers.
