JOSEPH MELLOT Sancerre AOP “La Grande Chatelaine” 2020

HK$530.00

Limited edition from a 2.4-hectare of Clay-Limestone (Caillottes) vineyard. 7,000 bottles produced only.

Fermentation in fine grained oak barrels from the local forests. Ageing 11 months in barrels with regular stirring of the lees, then 10 months in vats.

Rich nose with notes of peach and mirabelle plum, enhanced by hints of vanilla and light toasting. The wine fills the mouth with elegance and power, revealing a vast aromatic palette of yellow fruit and minerality. A pleasant freshness accompanies the long, persistent finish.

“A fresh, juicy and playful Sancerre with apples, spiced plums and sweet spices on the nose. Medium-bodied with a textural, baked lemon character on the palate and a dense, flavorful finish.” – James Suckling, 90 Points
